A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

.. Hazardous waste excluded. The figures are given i 1000 tonnes. The value '0' represents both figures less than 500 tonnes and actual 0-figures. The sample surveys for 2004 and 2005 are not as detailed as the 2003-sample survey. Because of this the figures for 2004 and 2005 are not broken down by treatment and materials.
