Refers to the period 1981 and later.
For 2006, consumption of fuel wood and kerosene in cottages is included in the households energy consumption while this is excluded for other years. This implies that the total energy consumption becomes about 1 per cent higher, and fuel wood 5 per cent (almost 200 kWh) higher than it would have been if this not has been included for this year.
Refers to heating degree days on average for the municipality of residence for the households in the sample. The source for the degree days by municipality is Meteo Norway.
The heating degree days express the difference between the outdoor temperature and a room temperature at 17 degrees C. High figures indicate cold years. The normal degree days in the periode 1971-2000 is calculated as an average for the heating degree days in this period.
Calculated energy consumption if the temperature had been as normal in 2009, See text box in the article about the method used.
The figures were corrected 24.08.2011 at 10.45.
