Comments | Employee income includes wages and salaries, fees and other remunerations (incl. seamen¿s wages). Taxable free or subsidized goods and services from an employer, such as company cars, telephone bills etc., are also included in employee income. Employee income also includes wages earned by children (under 13 years of age). Unemployment benefit has been removed from wages to become a separate income item included in taxable transfers. See also comments regarding the definition of unemployment benefit. From income year 2002 rehabilitation benefits are included in the Tax return¿s definition of wages. From income year 2004 time-limited disability benefit is included in the Tax return¿s definition of wages. From 1 March 2010 these income programs were replaced by the introduction of the Work Assessment Allowance. In order to maintain comparability regarding the definition of wages, these income items have been removed from wages and included in pensions from Social Security. Starting from income year 2006, sickness benefits and parental benefits have been subtracted from employment income and instead included as part of taxable transfers in official statistics. |
