Of all the filled positions in social services in 1995, four out of 10 positions were filled by social workers or college-trained child welfare workers. Compared to 1994, the number of professional positions at social services offices had increased by around 130 in 1995. There has been steady growth in the number of professional positions for several years running.
At the end of 1995, Norwegian social services had a total of 4,475 full-time positions. This is about 60 more than in 1994. Some of the growth is due to fewer unfilled positions.
