Strong decline in production and consumption of electricity
Norway's production of electricity totalled 5,981 GWh in August, down 30
per cent from the same month the year before. This is the lowest level of power
production for August since 1982. Gross consumption totalled 6,910 GWh, down 10

electricity production, or more than 9,000 GWh per year, the decline was the
largest in Buskerud, Telemark and Hordaland. Here, production dropped by
respectively 62, 50 and 52 per cent compared to the same month last year. So

same period last year. Imports this year have totalled 6,881 GWh, which is
three and a half times higher compared to the same period last year. Exports
from January to August have totalled 3,718 GWh, down 33 per cent from last
year. Exports in August totalled 125 GWh, which is 86 per cent lower compared
