Industrial output is now 3.8 per cent above the same month last year, with production growing a seasonally adjusted 1.5 per cent from September to October. The annual growth trend for industrial production in October was 2.3 per cent. The metals industry and offshore oil platform-related industry have both seen noticeable growth in the past month.
The production index for oil and gas production, manufacturing, mining and power supply (the all-items index) grew 2.2 per cent from September to October, after taking normal seasonal variations into account. Growth through the three previous months was a seasonally adjusted 1.5 per cent. The all-items index is now 7.8 per cent higher than the same month in 1996.
