Revenues of restaurants in Norway amounted to NOK 3.42 billion in September and October (fifth period) 1998. Comparative autumn figures were NOK 3.38 billion in 1997 and NOK 2.91 billion in 1996. The increase from 1997 to 1998 was thus 1.1 per cent.
Compared with the fifth period of 1997, Østfold and Vestfold reported the
largest increase in revenues, 15 per cent, while Rogaland saw the biggest
decline in revenues.
During the first 10 months of 1998, the restaurant industry reported revenues
of NOK 17.57 billion, an increase of about 7.7 per cent compared with the same
period in 1997, and 21 per cent compared with the same period in 1996.
