2  Nominal interest rate based on market holdings up to 1945. From 1946 nominal interest rate based on issues.
3  Commissions included in the interest rate from 1975. This caused an increase in the figures (e.g. 0.6 in 1975 and 0.2 in 1987).
4  Non-performing loans (i.e. defaulted loans on which the banks have stopped entering interest, commission and charges as income) are excluded from the statistics from 1985. This caused a 0.15 per cent jump in the interest rate figures in 1985.
