For those with a known personal ID number generated from information from the Central Population Register. This was done for about 80 per cent of all prisoners as of 1 January 2012 and all new imprisonments in 2012. For those without a Norwegian personal ID number, citizenship is determined based on the information received in the Norwegian Central Criminal Record and Police Information System (SSP).
