Refers to the appearance and shape of a product or a part of a product.

The following can be protected by design:

- Form and appearance of a product, such as the design of a toothbrush, or a piece of furniture.
- Parts of the product, such as the toothbrush head, chair legs.
- Appearance of non-physical objects, such as windows for the web, mobile design. Computer programs cannot be registered.
- An ornament, such as the decor of crockery or figures on textiles and wallpaper.
