The ‘Traffic offences’ group of offences includes the following types of offences:
- Road traffic offences (but not driving under the influence, which is now included in the group of Drug and alcohol offences)
- Other or unspecified road traffic offences
Offences under the Road Traffic Act (and Customs Act) that are settled with on the spot fines are not regarded as ‘reported to the police’, and therefore not included. They are included in the statistics on sanctions.
