The type of offence, ‘Rape, total’ includes:

- Rape, children under 14 years of age
- Rape, other or unspecified age
- Aggravated rape, children under 14 years of age (from 1.10.2015) - Aggravated rape, other or unspecified age

‘Rape, children under 14 years of age’ includes offences which according to the previous Penal Code of 1902 were classified as ‘sexual intercourse with children under 14 years of age’ and ‘sexual intercourse with children under 10 years of age’.
