Craft workers include numerous craft working professions. Among these working professions we find electricians, with average monthly earnings of NOK 33 600, which gives a year-on-year increase of NOK 700 or 2.1 per cent. In contrast, another craft working profession, woodworkers and cabinet-makers, had average monthly earnings of NOK 31 100. This corresponds to a year-on-year increase of NOK 800 or 2.6 per cent.
About the statistical basisThe statistics are based on information from a sample of construction enterprises covering a total of 64 708 full-time employees and 3 091 part-time employees. The total number of employees that forms the basis for weighting is 173 100 in construction, according to the Norwegian Central Register of Enterprises and Establishments. The term average monthly earnings is the main term in Statistics Norway's wage statistics. Monthly earnings cover basic salaries, variable additional allowances and bonuses. Payment for overtime work is not included but is presented in the statistics separately. Structural changes within the division along with the outcome of collective bargaining would have a certain effect on the wage increase being measured. |
