Average monthly earnings in construction up NOK 1 100
Full-time employees in construction had average monthly earnings of NOK 39 500 as per 1 October 2014. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 100, or 2.9 per cent.

Craft workers, the largest group of employees in construction, had average monthly earnings of NOK 36 000. This represents a year-on-year increase of NOK 900 or 2.6 per cent. Craft workers include numerous craft working professions. Among these working professions we find electricians, with average monthly earnings of NOK 37 100, which gives a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 300 or 3.6 per cent. In contrast, another craft working profession, woodworkers and cabinet-makers, had average monthly earnings of NOK 33 300. This corresponds to a year-on-year increase of NOK 400 or 1.2 per cent.

The statistics are based on information from a sample of construction enterprises which cover a total of 72 512 full-time employees and 3 456 part-time employees. The total number of employees in construction that are the basis for weighting is 203 000, according to the Norwegian Central Register of Enterprises and Establishments.
The term average monthly earnings is the main term in Statistics Norway's wage statistics. Monthly earnings cover basic salaries, variable additional allowances and bonuses. Payment for overtime work is not included but is presented in the statistics separately.
Structural changes within the division along with the outcome of collective bargaining would have a certain effect on the wage increase being measured.
