5.2 per cent increase in monthly earnings
Full time employees in real estate, renting and business activities had an average monthly salary of NOK 37 700 pr September 1, 2007. This was an increase of 5.2 per cent, or NOK 1 900, from the preceding year. Basic salary had an increase of 4.9 per cent.
Employees with a higher education had an increase of 6.7 per cent, while employees with basic education had an increase of 5.4 per cent.
Average monthly earnings for full time employees in Labour recruitment and provision of personnel was NOK 27 700 pr September 1, 2007. This is a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 600, or 6.1 per cent. As a comparison, employees in architectural and engineering activities and related technical consultancy earned NOK 44 300 pr month, an increase of NOK 2 500 or 6 per cent. For computers and related activities the numbers are NOK 44 000, 7.7 per cent or NOK 3 100.
Employees with higher education
Employees with degrees from colleges or universities working in the division labour recruitment and provision of personnel had an average monthly earning of NOK 32 300 in 2007, up NOK 3 000 or 10.1 per cent from the previous year. The same figures for Architectural and engineering activities and related technical consultancy were NOK 47 300, up NOK 3 000 or 6.7 per cent. Employees with higher education degrees working in Computers and related activities had an average monthly earning of NOK 46 400, an increase of NOK 3 400 or 7.8 per cent.
Annual salary up 5 per cent
Full time employees in Real estate, renting and business activities had an average annual salary of NOK 446 300. This is an increase of NOK 21 400 compared to last year.
Estimated annual earnings are based on salaries being paid out for 12 months a year, so that any holiday pay allowance is not included. Annual earnings cover basic salary, variable additional allowances and bonuses, but do not include overtime pay. For the calculation, information from two years of wage statistics are used as well as information from the wage negotiations. Estimated annual earnings for the current year are preliminary until wage statistics for the next year have been established.
About the statistical basisThe statistics are based on information from a sample of enterprises which cover a total of 89 081 full-time employees. Real estate and business activities is comprised of very diverse divisions, as Real estate activities, Computer activities, Research, Legal, accounting, book-keeping and auditing activities, Architectural and engineering activities, Investigation and security activities, as well as Industrial cleaning.
The statistics are based on information from a sample of enterprises in Real estate, renting and business activities. According to preliminary data from the national accounts for the third quarter of 2007, this division is comprised of 267 200 employees.
Monthly earnings are the main term in Statistics Norway’s wage statistics. Monthly earnings cover basic salary, variable additional allowances and bonuses. Overtime pay is not included in monthly earnings. |

Additional information
Structural changes within the division along with the outcome of collective bargaining would have a certain effect on the wage increase being measured.
