Monthly earnings up NOK 800
The average monthly earnings of full-time employees in fish farming were NOK 26 100 per 1 October 2004. This is an increase of NOK 800 or 3.3 per cent from 1 October 2003.
Fish farming includes the production of fish, shellfish, mussels and the like. Hatcheries producing spawn and fry are also included.
Fish farmers: up 3.3 per cent
Fish farmers make up the majority of this class. On average, their monthly earnings were NOK 24 900, an increase of NOK 800 or 3.3 per cent since 2003. In comparison, the average monthly earnings of operators and drivers were NOK 21 000, an increase of NOK 600 or 2.9 per cent. The monthly earnings of employees in managerial positions were NOK 39 900, an increase of NOK 1 300 or 3.3 per cent since 2003.
About the statistical basis
The statistics are based on a sample of enterprises with 1 496 full-time employees. According to preliminary figures from the national accounts for the third quarter of 2004, the statistics cover about 3 300 employees.
Monthly earnings include basic paid salaries, variable additional allowances and bonuses, commissions and the like. Overtime pay and other benefits are not included.

Additional information
Structural changes within the division along with the outcome of collective bargaining would have a certain effect on the wage increase being measured.
