Monthly earnings up NOK 1 300

The average monthly earnings of full-time employees in electricity supply were NOK 31 200 at 1 October 2004. This is an increase of NOK 1 300, or 4.5 per cent, compared with 1 October in 2003.

Monthly earnings include basic paid salary and the mean of additional allowances from January through September. Payment for overtime is not included.

Occupational groups

The monthly wages and salaries of craft workers increased by NOK 900, or 3.6 per cent, to NOK 26 100 on average. In comparison, technicians and associated professional working full-time had an increase of NOK 1 300, or 4.3 per cent, to NOK 32 000 on average.

About the statistical basis

The statistics are based on a sample of enterprises with 9 969 full-time employees. According to preliminary figures from the national accounts for the third quarter of 2004, the statistics cover approximately 14 300 employees in the electricity supply sector.
