Wage increase of NOK 3 000
Average monthly earnings for full-time employees in electricity supply were NOK 47 100 as of October 2011. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 3 000, or 6.8 per cent.
Basic pay for full-time employees increased by NOK 2 600, or 6.1 per cent.
Electrical engineering technicians and electrical line installers
About one in five who work in electricity supply are electrical line installers. These are skilled workers who build and maintain power lines and power plants. Average monthly earnings for this group were NOK 37 000, up 6.6 per cent. Electrical engineering technicians are university college graduates, and constitute a sizeable proportion of the workforce in electricity supply. Earnings for this group were NOK 47 100, which was an increase of NOK 3 100.
Professionals and managers
Most of the professionals in this industry are civil engineers. This group earned NOK 57 400 in 2011, which was an increase of 5.9 per cent. Managers had average earnings of NOK 73 000.
About the statisticsThe wage statistics have the same reference date each year; 1 October, regardless of when the results from the wage settlements apply. This may affect wage changes in the wage statistics from 1 October 2009 to 1 October 2010. The statistics are based on a sample of firms in the main industry of electricity supply, with a total of 9 573 full-time employees and 825 part-time employees. According to the Norwegian Central Register of Enterprises and Establishments, the statistics cover approximately 15 000 employees as of October 2011. |

Structural changes within the division along with the outcome of collective bargaining would have a certain effect on the wage increase being measured.
