Total paid compensation in cash amounted to NOK 930 billion in 2009. This is an increase of 4.6 per cent from 2008.

Disbursements of unemployment benefits

A total of 160 000 persons received unemployment benefit in 2009. Total disbursements of unemployment benefit amounted to NOK 9.6 billion in 2009; an increase of 124 per cent from 2008.
