Average monthly earnings up NOK 3 500
Full-time employees in the oil and gas extraction industry had average monthly earnings of NOK 65 400 as per 1 October 2013. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 3 600, or 5.7 per cent.

The basic salary; monthly earnings excluding variable additional allowances and bonuses, amounted to NOK 54 700 for full-time employees in the oil industry. This represents an increase of NOK 2 600, or 5.0 per cent.
Oil and gas extraction
The largest occupational group in the oil sector consists of drill floor crew, process technicians and other operators, who had average monthly earnings of NOK 58 600. This represents an increase of NOK 3 400, or 6.4 per cent.
Associate professionals had average monthly wages of NOK 63 300. This was an increase of NOK 3 400, or 5.7 per cent from the previous year. By comparison, the professionals had average monthly earnings of NOK 71 900. This corresponds to a year-on-year increase of NOK 3 100, or 4.5 per cent in the same period.
Mining sector
The monthly earnings excluding overtime for full-time employees in the mining sector amounted to NOK 41 800. This was an increase of NOK 600, or 1.5 per cent more than for the corresponding period in 2012. About half of all the full-time employees in the sector are operators or drivers. This occupation had an average monthly wage of NOK 37 800, which corresponds to a year-on-year increase of NOK 800, or 2.2 per cent.
