Monthly earnings increased by NOK 1 000

Full-time employees in public schools had average monthly earnings of NOK 32 100 per 1 December 2006, an increase of NOK 1 000 or 3.1 per cent from 1 December 2005.

Female employees working full-time had monthly earnings of NOK 31 600 - NOK 900 more than in the previous year. In comparison, monthly earnings for full-time male employees were NOK 32 700 - an increase of NOK 1 000.

Monthly earnings for secondary education teachers with a lower university degree and part of a higher degree advancement were NOK 31 800. In comparison, secondary education teachers with a lower university degree had monthly earnings of NOK 30 500. This corresponds to an increase of NOK 900 for both groups. Secondary education teachers with a higher university degree had monthly earnings of NOK 34 800, an increase of NOK 1 000.

About the statistical basis

The statistics are based on information for 61 216 full-time employees in public schools per 1 December 2006. The statistics are based on data collected by the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS).
