Average monthly earnings up NOK 1 500
Full-time employees in the health enterprises had average monthly earnings of NOK 42 200 as per 1 October 2012, excluding overtime pay. This is a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 500 or 3.7 per cent.
The majority of employees in health enterprises are nurses, physicians and specialist nurses. Approximately 9 out of 10 full-time nurses and specialist nurses are women, and about half of the full-time physicians are women.
Nurses and specialist nurses
Full-time nurses had average monthly earnings of NOK 35 900. This represents an increase of NOK 1 100 or 3.2 per cent.
Average monthly earnings for full-time specialist nurses were NOK 41 500, up 3.8 per cent.
Physicians
Full-time physicians had average monthly earnings of NOK 64 900, which corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 2.5 per cent.
About the statistical basisThe statistics are based on information from state hospitals in all health regions, and include 65 520 full-time employees and 58 552 part-time employees. Monthly earnings comprise salary according to scale and fixed and variable additional allowances. Payment for overtime work is not included. |
