Monthly earnings up NOK 1 100

Full-time employees in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities had average monthly earnings of NOK 38 400 in October 2013. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 100, or 2.9 per cent compared to the same period in 2012.

The occupational group with the highest number of employees is drivers and operators, such as operators in water treatment plants and semi-skilled workers at waste dumps. In this group we find growth in average earnings of 4 per cent, up to NOK 33 900 per month.

Craft workers up 2 per cent

Another large occupational group within this industry is craft workers, which consists largely of skilled workers. This group had a wage increase of 2 per cent, from NOK 34 200 per month to NOK 34 900.

The statistics are based on information from a sample of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities covering a total of 8 966 full-time employees and 1 385 part-time employees. The total number of employees that forms the basis for weighting is 10 400 in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities, according to the Norwegian Central Register of Enterprises and Establishments.
