Increased building activity

The activity in the building and construction industry continued rising in the 1st quarter of 2017. Overall, the seasonally-adjusted figure showed 0.8 per cent growth.

The building industry contributed to this with a 1.4 per cent increase, while the construction industry decreased by 1.8 per cent.

Compared to the same quarter last year, the total production was 2.9 per cent higher in the 1st quarter of 2017. The increase in building activity was 6.0 per cent, while the civil engineering industry fell by 5.5 per cent. These figures are adjusted for working days.
