6 per cent turnover growth

Turnover in the construction industry increased by 6.0 per cent from 1999 to 2000.

All turnover in this connection excludes VAT.

The total construction turnover for 2000 was NOK 131.3 billion, an increase of NOK 7.3 billion compared with the year before. Growth in the building completion group was 7.8 per cent or NOK 782 million in this period, whereas building of complete constructions or parts thereof; civil engineering grew by 6.2 per cent, or 4379 million. Establishments in the renting of construction or demolition equipment with operator group saw a 4.8 per cent decline in turnover in the same period.

Fastest growth in Hedmark in 2000

The turnover of construction companies in Hedmark went up by NOK 746 million, or 18.9 per cent in 2000 compared with 1999. The turnover of companies in Sør-Trøndelag and Oppland went up by NOK 1078 and 605 million respectively, or 15.3 and 14.1 per cent in this period. Only Oslo county saw a small decline in turnover in 2000 compared with 1999, with 1.9 per cent or NOK 535 million.

Growth in the 6th period 2000

The turnover of construction companies went up by 9.1 per cent in the 6th period 2000 compared with the 6th period 1999. In the same period the turnover increased by NOK 49 million or 14.9 per cent in establishments in the renting of construction or demolition equipment with operator group. Establishments in building of complete constructions or parts thereof; civil engineering and building installation went up by 10.0 and 7.9 per cent respectively or NOK 1414 and 569 million in the same period.

Biggest increase in Nord-Trøndelag in the 6th period

In Nord-Trøndelag, turnover of construction companies increased by 28.7 per cent in the 6th period 2000 compared with the 6th period 1999. The turnover of construction companies in Sør-Trøndelag, Vest-Agder and Buskerud went up by17.3, 15.4 and 15.0 per cent respectively this period. Only Nordland county had a decline in constructions turnover in the 6th period 2000 compared with the 6th period 1999. The decline was at 0.6 per cent.
