3.5 per cent turnover growth

Turnover in the construction industry increased by 3.5 per cent or NOK 597 million in the 1st period (January and February) this year compared with the 1st period last year.

All turnover in this connection excludes VAT.

The total construction turnover for the 1st period 2001 was NOK 17.7 billion. Growth in the building installation and building completion was 7.6 and 7.5 per cent respectively, or NOK 367 and 101 million in the 1st period 2001 compared with the 1st period 2000. Establishments in the site preparation group saw a 0.3 per cent decline in turnover in the same period.

Fastest growth in Østfold and in Møre og Romsdal

The turnover of construction companies in Østfold and Møre og Romsdal went up by 11.3 and 10.9 per cent in the 1st period 2001 compared with the 1st period 2000. The turnover of companies in Telemark went up by 7.5 per cent and in Buskerud with 6.3 per cent in this period. Nord-Trøndelag, Troms and Nordland had a decline of 4.8, 2.9 and 0.5 per cent respectively.
