Turnover growth in construction industry

The turnover in the construction industry increased by 11.1 per cent in the 4t h period, July and August 2001, compared with the 4t h period 2000.

The total construction turnover for the 4t h period 2001 was NOK 22.2 billion an increase of NOK 2.2 billion compared with the same period of 2000. Growth in the building installation was 23.0 per cent, or NOK 1.1 billion in the 4t h period 2001 compared with the 4t h period 2000. Establishments in the renting of construction or demolition equipment with operator group grew by 18.0 per cent in the same period.

All turnovers in this connection exclude VAT.

Building installation increased by 18 per cent

In the period of January till August 2001 the turnover of construction companies went up by 10.4 per cent or NOK 8 billion compared with the same period 2000. Establishments in the building installation increased by 18.2 per cent during this period.

Fastest growth in Sør-Trøndelag

The turnover of construction companies in Nord-Trøndelag went up by 18.7 per cent or NOK 77 million in the 4t h period 2001 compared with the 4t h period 2000. The turnover of companies in Vestfold went up by 16.0 per cent or NOK 149 million.

In the period of January till August 2001 compared with the same period 2000 Nord-Trøndelag has the highest increase with 17.4 per cent. The turnover of construction companies in Rogaland and Akershus went up by 13.1 and 12.8 per cent, respectively, during the same period.
