High turnover growth in construction
Turnover in the Norwegian construction industry increased by 9.1 per cent from 2000 to 2001. The companies in Akershus county had the strongest increase.
The total construction turnover for 2001 was NOK 140.3 billion, an increase by NOK 11.7 billion compared with the year before. Growth in the renting of construction or demolition equipment with operator and building installation was 14.2 and 13.4 per cent respectively, or NOK 232 and 4 618 million in 2001, compared with 2000.
All turnover in this connection excludes VAT.
Several counties with more than 10 per cent growth
The turnover of construction companies in Akershus and Nord-Trøndelag went up by NOK 1 250 and 325 million respectively, or 12.0 and 11.7 per cent in 2001 compared with 2000. The turnover of companies in Oslo, Oppland, Vestfold and Hordaland also increased by more than 10 per cent in the same period.
The turnover of construction companies went up 4.3 per cent the 6t h period 2001 compared with the 6t h period 2000. In the same period the turnover increased by NOK 21 million or 5.4 per cent in establishments in the renting of construction or demolition equipment with operator group. Establishments in building completion and building of complete constructions or parts thereof; civil engineering went up by NOK 109 and 746 million respectively or 5.1 and 4.9 per cent in the same period.
Biggest increase in Oslo and Akershus in the 6th period
Turnover of construction companies in Oslo increased by 11.1 per cent the 6t h period 2001 compared with the 6t h period 2000. The turnover of construction companies in Akershus went up by 10.2 per cent the same period. Sogn- og Fjordane county had the biggest decline in constructions turnover the 6t h period 2001 compared with the 6t h period 2000.
