Turnover growth in construction industry
Turnover in the construction industry increased by 4.5 per cent in the 3r d period (May and June) 2002 compared with the 3r d period 2001.
The total construction turnover for the 3r d period 2002 was NOK 25 billion, an increase of NOK 1.1 billion compared with the same period of 2001. Growth in the renting of construction or demolition equipment with operator and site preparation was respectively 20.3 and 6.9 per cent, or NOK 63 and 108 million in this period. However, establishments in the building completion group saw a 0.3 per cent decline in turnover in the same period.
All turnover in this connection excludes VAT.
Biggest increase in Finnmark
The turnover of construction companies in Finnmark increased by 22.5 per cent the 3r d period 2002 compared to the 3r d period 2001. Nord-Trøndelag County had the biggest decline in constructions turnover the 3r d period 2002 compared with the 3r d period 2001 with 3.3 per cent.
7 per cent growth the first six months
The total construction turnover for the first six months of 2002 was NOK 67 billion, an increase by 7 per cent compared with the same period the year before. Growth in the renting of construction or demolition equipment with operator and site preparation was respectively 11.8 and 9.5 per cent, or NOK 91 and 354 million in this period.
