1.3 per cent growth in construction industry

Turnover in the construction industry increased by NOK 280 million or 1.3 per cent in January and February this year compared with the same period last year.

The total construction turnover for the first period of 2004 (January and February) was NOK 21.9 billion. The group "site preparation" increased by 9.2 per cent in this period compared with the same period in 2003, while the group "building of complete constructions or parts thereof; civil engineering" saw a 0.1 per cent decline in turnover.

All figures are exclusive of VAT.
