Turnover decline in construction

Turnover in the construction industry went down by NOK 4 billion, or 9.4 per cent, in January and February this year compared with the same period last year.

The total construction turnover for the first period of 2009 was NOK 38.6 billion. All figures are exclusive of VAT.

Important announcement: Transition to a new industry classification

From January 2009, a new version of Norwegian industry classification (SIC2007) will be used. Industries were broken down in order to make a clearer distinction between the building activity and construction activity. Building project developments (housing cooperatives and the development and sale of property) have been included in the building and construction activity.
