Growth in construction turnover

Turnover in the construction industry was NOK 59 billion in March-April 2014; an increase of 8.4 per cent compared with the same period in 2013.

The highest turnover in the 2nd period of 2014 was in construction of residential and non-residential buildings. With an increase of 4.9 per cent from the 2nd period of 2013, growth remains at the same level as in the previous period. Turnover was NOK 23.8 billion and represents 40.3 per cent of the total turnover in construction.

The county with the highest turnover is Oslo, with NOK 10.5 billion in the 2nd period. This represents an increase of 8.2 per cent from the same period in 2013. The largest percentage change in construction was in Troms, with an increase of 20.6 per cent from the 2nd period of 2013, which corresponds to a turnover of just below NOK 1.5 billion and an increase of NOK 252 million. The decline among the local kind-of-activity units in Telemark continues from the 1st period, with a decline of 1.7 per cent compared to the 2nd period of 2013.

During January–March 2014, the development in construction shows an increase in turnover of 7.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2013.
