Growth in construction turnover in 2014

The turnover in the construction industry in the 6th period of 2014 has shown an increase of 4.5 per cent from the same period in 2013. The total growth in 2014 was 5.7 per cent; an increase in turnover of NOK 21.1 billion from 2013.

Turnover in the 6th period was NOK 78.1 billion and thus increased by NOK 3.3 billion from the same period in 2013. This represents a growth of 4.5 per cent.

Reduced growth in 2014

The total turnover in 2014 was NOK 390.0 billion, which corresponds to an increase of NOK 21.1 billion from 2013. Growth in 2014 is thus less than previous years. By comparison, growth from 2012 to 2013 was 6.3 per cent, and 11.9 per cent from 2011 to 2012.

Highest growth in civil engineering in the 6th period

The local kind-of-activity units in the group “construction of residential and non-residential buildings” had an increase in turnover of 3.2 per cent compared to the 6th period of 2013. This represents an increase of NOK 959 million and a turnover of NOK 30.5 billion in the 6th period of 2014. The total turnover in 2014 for the local kind-of-activity units in the group was NOK 153.7 billion, which was a total increase of 5.7 per cent.

The turnover among local kind-of-activity units in the division “civil engineering” had growth of 6.9 per cent in the 6th period of 2014 compared with the same period last year and a turnover of NOK 9.3 billion. The total increase in the division was NOK 6.9 billion in 2014, with a turnover of NOK 48.1 billion. This corresponds to an increase of 7.4 per cent from 2013.

In the division “specialised construction activities”, the local kind-of-activity units had a turnover of NOK 38.2 billion in the 6th period of 2014. Compared with the 6th period in 2013 this gives an increase of NOK 1.8 billion, or 4.9 per cent. The total increase in this division from 2013 to 2014 was 6.2 per cent. This gives a growth of NOK 10.9 billion and total turnover of NOK 188.3 billion in the division in 2014.

Local kind-of-activity units in Troms had highest increase

In 2014, the local kind-of-activity units in Troms had the highest growth in turnover from 2013, with an increase of 15.4 per cent. The local kind-of-activity units in Telemark had a decline in turnover of 4.7 per cent.
