Continued growth in construction
The turnover in the construction industry was NOK 63.3 billion in the 4th period of 2016. This corresponds to a growth of 6.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2015.

The largest share of the turnover in the 4th period was found among the local kind-of-activity units with their main activity in «specialised construction activities». With a turnover of NOK 29.0 billion they accounted for 45.9 per cent of the total turnover in the division. The turnover among the units in construction of buildings was NOK 24.1 billion and contributed with 38.2 per cent of the total turnover.
The local kind-of-activity units who had the lowest share of the turnover were found in «civil engineering», with NOK 10.2 billion in the 4th period of 2016. However, it was within this division turnover increased the most during the period with a growth of 17.0 per cent from the 4th period of 2015 to the 4th period of 2016. The sharp increase is due to growth in the area «Construction of roads and railways».
At county level, the local kind-of-activity units in Oslo had the largest turnover, with NOK 11.8 billion in the 4th period in 2016, while sales in Aust Agder had the highest growth with an increase of 23.3 per cent from the same period in 2015.
