Increase in building companies reserves
The inflow of new building projects is still high, and the value of company reserves at the end of the third quarter of 2004 is 22 per cent higher than at the same time last year.
The growth in residential projects continues. The value of company reserves of new residential buildings rose by 6 per cent in the third quarter of 2004 and is 45 per cent higher than at the end of the third quarter of 2003.
While orders for new commercial buildings have been stable over the last two years, it has been a considerable growth in renovations orders during the three first quarters of 2004. At the end of the third quarter contractor reserves of renovation of commercial buildings are 23 per cent higher than at the same time last year.
The inflow of new orders for civil engineering works decreased in the third quarter compared with a high level of new orders in the first and second quarter of 2004. The value of company reserves decreased during the third quarter but is still higher than at the same time in 2003.
The value of company reserves for the entire construction industry remains unchanged over the course of the third quarter of 2004.
