Construction, new orders (discontinued)Q1 2009

Statistics Norway has decided to stop the publication of the Construction, new orders from the first quarter of 2018. One reason for this was that the statistic previously was a part of Eurostat's regulation for short-term statistics, but this requirement was removed from the regulation in 2012.

Construction reserves remains unchanged

After a strong decrease in the second half of 2008, the inflow of new orders increased in the 1s t quarter of 2009 and contributed to the value of company reserves remaining unchanged over the course of the 1st quarter of 2009.

New orders received and stock of orders. Unadjusted. 2000=100

Compared with the top level a year before, the order reserves of building and civil engineering works are 29 per cent and 10 per cent lower respectively, measured in current values. The total reserves for the industry as a whole decreased by 23 per cent.

The inflow of new dwelling projects has decreased steadily since the middle of 2007 and has remained at a low level over the course of the three last quarters. The inflow of new orders for non-residential buildings has decreased in the two last quarters. A high inflow of renovation projects and an increase in the inflow of new civil engineering works in the 1st quarter of 2009 helped maintain the construction activity.
