Increase in construction orders
The inflow of new construction projects in the 4th quarter of 2009 increased by 31 per cent compared with a low level in the 4th quarter of 2008. The value of company reserves was 2 per cent higher at the end of 2009 than the end of 2008.
After five quarters with low inflow of new residential buildings there was a growth in new orders in the 4th quarter of 2009. The value of company reserves of new residential buildings was 10 per cent lower at the end of 2009 compared with the end of 2008 and about half of the value compared with the peak level in 2006 and 2007.
The value of company reserves of other new buildings has been stable over the last three quarters, on a level about 25 per cent lower than the peak level in the period before the financial crisis.
There was a moderate increase in the inflow of renovation orders in the housing sector during 2009, and at the end of 2009 the contractor reserves were 15 per cent higher than a year before. The company reserves of renovation of non-residential buildings decreased by 18 per cent in the same period.
Increase in civil engineering works
The inflow of new orders for civil engineering works increased in the 4th quarter of 2009 from a high level in the three previous quarters. The total value of company reserves is now 24 per cent higher than at the end of 2008, measured in current values.
