Decrease in the civil engineering sector

The second quarter of 2001 the production index for the civil engineering works decreases by 5.6 per cent, when compared to the second quarter of 2000. For the same period the construction of buildings is increasing so that the total construction activity is at the same level.

Construction output in the new building sector rose by 11.61 per cent between 2nd quarter of 2000 and 2nd quarter of 2001. In the same period the production index for building renovation fell by 8.0 per cent. The construction output in the building sector as total experience an increase by 1.91 per cent between 2nd quarter of 2000 and 2nd quarter of 2001.

Revised figures back to 2nd quarter of 2000

The indexes back to 2nd quarter of last year are revised. The correction has a great outcome for the index of the civil engineering sector, which now shows a lower activity in 2000 than the figures published earlier this year.
