Growth in construction activity
The activity in the construction industry continues to increase. In the first quarter of 2013 the production was 4.0 per cent higher than in the same quarter of 2012, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. The rise was primarily due to the productivity of civil engineering, which had a 7.2 per cent increase in the period.

In the building sector, production increased by 2.8 per cent from the first quarter of 2012 to the first quarter of 2013, according to working day adjusted figures.
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2012, the total production in the construction industry has increased by 2.2 per cent since the last quarter according to seasonally-adjusted figures.
