Still growth in construction activity

The growth in building and construction activity continued towards the end of 2013. The total production increased by 1.3 per cent from the third to the fourth quarter.

The building activity increased by 1.5 per cent from the third to the fourth quarter 2013 according to seasonally-adjusted figures. The corresponding growth in civil engineering works was 0.5 per cent.

The total production in the fourth quarter was 9.5 per cent higher than the corresponding quarter in 2012 when adjusted for working days. The corresponding rise in the building activity and civil engineering works is 9.6 per cent and 8.9 per cent respectively.

The total building and construction activity for 2013 was 6.4 per cent higher than in 2012.
