More construction activity

Building and construction activity rose by 3.8 per cent from the first to second quarter of 2014, according to seasonally-adjusted figures.

The construction activity contributed 4.8 per cent to the growth, while the situation in building activity was more or less unchanged.

The total production in the second quarter was 5.7 per cent higher than the corresponding quarter in 2013, when adjusted for working days. This refers to a rise in building activity by 5.5 per cent and 7.9 per cent in civil engineering works.
