Minor changes in the construction industry

The production in the building and construction industry increased by 0.2 per cent from the 4th quarter of 2014 to the 1st quarter of 2015, when adjusted for seasonal variations.

During the first quarter of 2015 there have been minor changes in the production in both the building sector and in the civil engineering sector, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. Civil engineering had a small increase in activity of 0.7 per cent, following a drop of 8.0 per cent in the 4th quarter of 2014. The activity in the building industry had a decrease of 1.0 per cent.

The total production in the construction industry was 2.3 per cent higher in the 1st quarter of 2015 than in the same quarter in 2014, according to working-day adjusted figures. The civil engineering sector had a decrease of 3.3 per cent, while the construction activity increased by 2.0 per cent in this period.
