982 600 square meters of utility floor space were started for dwelling purposes in the first four months of the year, an increase of 6.7 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Increase for industrial buildings

1 170 900 square meters of utility floor space were started for other purposes than dwellings from January to April this year. This is an increase of 15.1 per cent compared with the low level in the same period last year. Registered start of utility floor space used for wholesale and retail trade has increased by 63.7 per cent. The corresponding figure for education increased by 51.8 per cent in this period.

Revised figures

In 2001, 2002 and at the beginning of 2003 the recording of non-residential buildings in the municipality of Oslo was imperfect, and previously published figures have been to low. In January 2004 the revised figures for 2001, 2002 and 2003 were published, and the statistics now include all industrial buildings in Oslo.
