Few new dwellings
Preliminary figures show a flattening trend in new residential buildings. The number of new dwellings increased by 2.9 per cent in January-February compared with the corresponding period last year.
Decrease in industrial sector
A total of 680 600 square metres of utility floor space for industrial buildings were started in January and February. This is 7.4 per cent less compared with the same period in 2009.
Flattening in leisure homes starts
In January-February there was a small decrease in building starts for holiday houses and residential garages. In this category, buildings starts of 198 100 square metres of utility floor space have been registered; a 2.6 per cent decrease compared with the corresponding period last year.
