Increase in new industrial buildings
In the period January-May this year the building starts in industrial and public sector increased by 11.4 per cent, compared with the same period last year.
A total of 3 087 500 square metres of utility floor space were started built during the first five months of 2010. This is an increase of 6.0 per cent compared with the same period in 2009. About half of the total floor space is built for industrial and public sector purposes. The increase has been particularly high within transport and communication, primary industries and public administration.
Still low building of new dwellings
During the first five months of 2010, 8 420 dwellings were started - about the same low number as in the previous years.
