Properties for 27 billion sold

Sales of real property amounted to NOK 27 billion in the first quarter 2000. This is 3.6 billion more than in the same quarter last year. The number of transfers was 34 300 which is almost 2 000 more than in the corresponding quarter in 2000.

 Number of transfers of real property per quarter

Usually fewer properties are sold during the first quarter than later in the year. In the first quarter this year 34 300 transfers were officially registered. This is 5.7 per cent more than in the first quarter last year and the largest number of transfers in the first quarter ever. The number of transfers decreased by 21 per cent l in the first quarter this year compared with the last quarter last year.

The total value of the properties sold in the first quarter was NOK 27 billion. In the corresponding quarter last year properties amounting to 23.4 billion were transferred. The increase from first quarter last year is 15.5 per cent. Compared to the last quarter 2000, the decrease is 24 per cent.

Two of three transfers referred to dwelling properties

The main part of the transferred properties is properties for housing purposes. 64 per cent of the transfers refers to built dwellings or sites for dwellings, 16 per cent refers to holiday properties, 7 per cent are properties for agriculture, forestry or fishing, and 2 per cent refers to properties for commercial or office purposes. About the same distribution have occured in the first quarter the last years. Later in the year the dwelling and holidayproperties constitute a bigger share of the transfers.

The average price per transfer for built dwelling properties sold voluntarily was NOK 1.3 million in the first quarter. This is 11 per cent more than in the same quarter last year and 2 per cent more than in the last quarter 2000.

The price per voluntary sale of holiday properties with building was NOK 580 000. This is an increase of 30 per cent compared to the same quarter last year and a rise of 13 per cent compared to the last quarter of 2000.
