More dwellings but less other properties sold

The transfer of real properties in this year's first quarter amounted to NOK 2 billion more than in the corresponding quarter last year. Due to a rise in the number of dwelling transfers, but a decline in the number of other property transfers, the total number of transfers has remained unchanged.

The total value of the properties sold in the first quarter of this year was NOK 29.5 billion. The corresponding figure of the previous year was NOK 27,5 billion. This is an increase of 7 per cent.

A total of 34 200 transfers of real property were registered in this year's first three months. Compared to the corresponding period last year, a decline of about 100, which is practically no change.

The number of transfers of most kinds of properties declined in the first quarter this year compared with the first quarter of 2001. Only the transfer of dwelling properties increased, and of which properties with no building increased the most. The number of transfers of dwelling sites rose by 7 per cent.

In the first quarter of 2002 a total of 12 300 built-up dwelling properties were transferred through voluntarily sale, 9 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter last year. The average price per transfer of this kind was NOK 1,4 million. This is the same average price as in the preceding quarter, but 7 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter in 2001.

The average price per transfer of built-up holiday properties sold voluntarily was NOK 700 000. This is 21 per cent more than in the first quarter 2001 and 29 per cent more than in the last quarter of 2001.
