Sharp increase in value of transfers

The number of registered transfers of real property in this year's first six months exceeded the corresponding figure for last year by 3 100. The value of the transfers increased by NOK 10.2 billion.

A total of 73 900 transfers of real property were registered during the first half of 2002. Compared with the corresponding period last year, this is an increase of 4 per cent.

The total value of the properties sold in the first half of 2002 amounted to NOK 66.8 billion. This is an increase of 18 per cent compared with the first half of 2001.

More dwelling- and holiday properties sold

The total number of properties transferred for housing purposes was 50 900 and for holiday purposes 11 300 in this years first six months. This is 7 and 2 per centmore than in the corresponding period last year, respectively. The properties for agricultural/forestry/fishery purposes, commercial/office purposes, and industrial purposes decreased by 8, 7 and 6 per cent respectively.

Higher prices per transfer of dwellings

During the 2n d quarter of this year a total of 15 900 built-up dwelling properties were transferred trough voluntarily sale. This is 14 per cent more than in the 2n d quarter last year. The average price per transfer was almost NOK 1.5 million, which is NOK 127 000 more than in the corresponding quarter last year. Compared with the 1s t quarter this year, the increase is NOK 34 000.

Still high prices per transfer of holiday properties

A total of 1 600 built-up holiday properties were transferred through voluntarily sale in the 2n d quarter. The average price per transfer was NOK 681 000. This is slightly lower than in the first quarter, but considerably higher than in the second quarter last year.
