Increase in transfer of real property

The value of real property transfers in the first nine months 2002 amounted to NOK 104.8 billion, 12 per cent more than in the corresponding period last year. The number of transfers increased by 2 per cent.

The aggregate value of the transferred properties in the first three quarters of 2002 rose by NOK 11.5 billion compared with the first three quarters of 2001.

A total of 115 400 transfers of real property was registered, an increase of 2 400 transfers compared with the corresponding period last year. While comparing quarter by quarter with last years figures, show a 0.2 and a 2 per cent decrease in the first and third quarter, respectively, and a 9 per cent increase in the second quarter.

Still increase in sales of dwellings and holiday houses

During the three first quarters of 2002 a total of 79 800 transfers of properties for housing purposes and 18 600 transfers of holiday properties were registered. This is 4 and 3 per cent more, respectively, than in the corresponding period last year. The transfers of building sites increased more than the transfers of built-up properties.

In the third quarter of 2002, 17 200 of the transfers of housing properties referred to voluntary sales of built-up dwellings. The total value of these sales amounted to NOK 25.1 billion. This gives an average price per dwelling transfer of NOK 1.5 million, a 5 per cent higher average price than in the third quarter last year, but a 1 per cent lower price than in the preceding quarter.

A number of 2 100 holiday houses were transferred trough voluntary sale in the third quarter 2002. The average price per sale was NOK 628 000. This is 10 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter last year, but 8 per cent less than in the preceding quarter.
