Property sales started to increase
After a decline in transfer of properties in the first two quarters, both the number and the value of transfers increased in the third quarter. The number of transfers decreased by 900 from the first to the third quarter 2003 compared with the corresponding period last year. The value of transfers decreased by NOK 1.8 billion in the three first quarters.
Altogether 114 700 transfers of real property were registered in the period 1s t- 3r d quarter 2003. This is a decrease of about 1 per cent compared with the same period in 2002. The number of transfers fell in the two first quarters of 2003, 3.5 and 2.5 per cent compared with 2002, while it increased 3.1 per cent in the 3r d quarter.
The total value of the transferred properties in the period 1s t- 3r d quarter this year amounted to NOK 103 billion which is 2 per cent down from the same period in 2002. Distributed by quarter, the value was stable from the 1s t quarter 2002 till the 1s t quarter this year, while it dropped by 8 per cent in the 2n d quarter, and increased by 2.6 per cent in the 3r d quarter.
Slight increase in the number of transferred dwelling properties
Altogether 80 800 transfers of dwelling properties were registered during the first three quarters of 2003. This is a slight increase of 1 per cent. The growth consists of built-up properties. The number of transfers has declined for most other property types.
Slight changes in prices of dwelling properties and holiday houses
In the 3r d quarter of 2003 18 600 built-up dwelling properties were transferred through voluntary sale. This is 8 per cent more than in the same quarter last year. The average price per transfer in the 3r d quarter 2003 was NOK 1.,5 million which is almost the same as in the 3r d quarter 2002. From the 2n d to the 3r d quarter this year the average price fell by NOK 26 000.
2 300 holiday houses were transferred through voluntary sale in the 3r d quarter 2003. The average price of these transfers was NOK 622 000. This is about the same price as in the 3r d quarter in 2002.
